Pretty Lilies and a Scary day at the park...

Awww.... It's my grandma and her beautiful lilies. :D

It's that time of the year again! These are home-grown lilies straight from our own backyard. My grandma cut them out and put them into a clear glass vase. It totally brings our living room more presentable to the eyes. *sigh* If only my future high school graduation was during this time of the year, then I would be able to receive these beautiful flowers without buying them.

Our mini Lily garden! ♥

Anyways, today in the morning, I experienced something that just scared the hell out of me. I was jogging in Barnes Park as my regular weekend routine (Yeah, I'm trying to lose some jiggly fat. xP) and the unexpected happened. As I was jogging, an old guy who was "probably" exercising said "Good Morning. How're you?" to me. So I thought that it was just a normal and polite greeting that Americans tend to do, therefore I responded back with a "Good-Morning-I'm-Fine-You?" type of greeting. All of that happened as I ran my first lap. Then on my second lap, I saw him again and he said, "You're looking good there. Keep it up!" Ok, that's pretty nice of him. So I just smiled at him.

Now, things started getting weird on my third lap. He asked for my name. .... which was um... okay, I guess? So I told him my name and he told me his name. AND THEN. FOURTH LAP. As I was getting closer to him, I saw him with two cards with some numbers. He saw me. He handed a card to me saying, "Excuse me, Angie. Would you like to have my cell number?" o____o OMG. That's freaking creepy!!!! I don't want to know why he would ask me that even though I pretty much realize what his intentions were! So I just started to ignore him for the rest of my jog.

BUT MAN, HE'S A FREAKING OLD MAN AND I'M A FREAKING HIGHSCHOOLER! *shivers*

Piggy-in-a-Blanket

Okay, if you know me well, you should know that I am a bread lover. So of course, it's only natural that I would come to bake some bread someday. Therefore, I accidentally came across a blog with these heavenly-made bread recipes that I thought maybe they aren't that hard to make. But as my first time in making bread, I had quite a few problems. xD

I honestly didn't know that there were so many different types of yeast to make bread! (Gosh, I'm such an idiot.) Without noticing that the recipe calls for INSTANT yeast, I went ahead and bought RAPIDRISE yeast. Due to the different names for the yeast, I went online to search if Rapidrise yeast was any different from instant yeast. Some sites told me there's no difference, and some sites said there's a little bit of difference. -_- It was hectic trying to know these things. So considering the type of impatient person I am, I just went with the no difference decision. LOL.

One other problem was the bread dough. I barely came to realize this problem when I was kneading the dough. I had no clue when was the kneading finished, and because I hate how the dough keeps sticking to my hand, I constantly added more flour to my hand. It made the dough too dry and I'm not even sure if I kneaded the bread enough. So the end result was that the bread crust was freakin' hard as stone and it tasted good only when it was right out from the oven.

But because of this experience, I'm even more determined to bake more breads to improve its taste! :)

Pizza Fun

Today is my grandmother's birthday, and I decided to make some 'Mushroom Pita Bread Pizza'! I was inspired by noobcook's pita bread pizza idea, therefore I made an attempt to make it. This is what noobcook called a '15-minute cheater pizza' because it's fast and quick and easy. My mom and I ate this for lunch and it was a success! Unfortunately, my grandmother ate lunch outside and didn't have the appetite to eat my pizza. It tasted just like delivery pizza. The pita bread was crunchy and thin, just how we like our pizza crusts. So you guys should check out noobcook's recipes, it's easy and quick, and most of all delicious!

WTF STUPID SUN

OW..... I hate sunburns!!!

I know that nobody likes sunburns, especially pale-skinned people like me. I've had lots of sunburns in my life, but this is the first time I have a sunburn on my freakin' scalp!!!!
I got this stupid burn from going to a social with my church. It was only a BBQ in the park for like maybe about 4 hours. I never knew that my head is so sensitive.

I first noticed this sunburn through taking a shower a few days ago. There was like this spot on my head that hurts from the warm water and I took at look in mirror and found bright pink spots on my scalp! It looked so weird!!!!! I still have it right now, and it's probably getting ready to peel. *Shivers* Ugh. How gross. I don't even want to know what it'll look like when the skin peels off. Man, I don't even feel like telling you guys how bad it hurts and itches.

Chinese Tea Eggs

Hi guys, so I made an attempt to cook some "chinese tea eggs" a few days ago and I'd like to blab out the results of it. As you all know, I'm a completely clueless noob at cooking, so these eggs didn't come out up to my expectations. The color wasn't dark enough and the taste needs more flavor. But since it's only my first time making this, I'd give myself a B.

Here's the list of ingredients I used:

1. 6 large eggs
2. 4 tbsp regular soy sauce ( I learned that you should use the dark soysauce for better coloring and flavor)
3. 3 tsp salt
4. 1 small stick of cinnamon
5. 4 star annise
6. 1 tbsp tea leaves (I used green tea leaves, but black tea leaves are recommended)
7. 1-2 tsp sugar (I kinda forgot how much i used!)

Basically, I brought the eggs to barely a boil and then simmered it for 2 minutes. Take out the eggs and made lots of cracks on each so the sauce can sip in. Then used the boiled water and mix it with all the ingredients and put the eggs back in and then bring it to a boil again. Then simmer for about 3 hours (more for more coloring and flavor). Yup, so that's pretty much it.

P.S. the most difficult part of this was listening to my grandma yelling at me saying, "3 hours?! You're gonna make the eggs old!" But good thing I didn't listen to her, or else my eggs will just taste like regular eggs. -_-

Alright guys, I'm back from the outside world again. And I'm suddenly into cooking for some reason. Over these two weeks, I cooked some food that I've NEVER made in my whole entire life, and in my entire life, the only food that I've made are cereal and instant ramen. So I've actually cooked some real food this time and I'm proud of it. :D

Crowded Teeth

Yesterday, I went shopping with some of my friends for her birthday and I came across this really cute brand called 'Crowded teeth'. Crowded teeth makes really cute and awesome products. I bought an owl wallet from them for $30! I know that is very expensive for a wallet, but even so, I just had to get it since it was too adorable. I really recommend buying crowded teeth's items!

I added Crowded Teeth's homepage link at the side, so feel free to browse through it!

UGH LOCK DOWN.

Today I just had my first lock down experience in school. I know this is something not to be excited and hyper about, but considering the fact that I've never had these situations and that I don't really understand how it feels to be in dangerous/life threatening situations before, I felt like this is quite an excitement in my boring life.

BUT! This stupid lock down had to occur right when the bell rings for dismissal. Plus, on a freaking minimum day too! D: This is NOT right. I stayed in the gym with a whole crowd of other sports people from 1:50-4:45 p.m. A while later, the police squad with guns came in and shouted, "WE'RE FROM THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, EVERYONE PUT YOUR HANDS UP!" My first impression of them was I thought they were the crimnials or something. I mean, they were pointing guns straight at us and telling us to put our hands up to surrender or something.

The police did a thorough body check on everyone in the gym. They found two guns from a student from a physics class. One loaded too. That is the scary part. Because of some stupid asian guy, some innocent people had to suffer from embarrassment from the police's inappropriate comments, such as "Hey, fat guy right there!" or "Hey, you, I can't really tell if you're a girl or not."

All in all, I'm very glad that nothing serious came out of this. Thanks to this, I got to experience a lockdown at least once in my life. :D Oh yeah, we're on the news! WOO HOO! http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=news/local/los_angeles&id=7204784
